The days are getting longer, it's feeling warmer, and more vibrant colours are showing.

It's spring!

Spring and autumn are my favourite seasons, because they're like the transitions between the 2 extremes, summer and winter. There's something about the transition, the grey area, that makes things beautiful.

So I bring you our most recent shoot in London, Regent's Park: jdaevil.deviantart.com/gallery…

For me it really was trying out something new -- just how often would you find me in that kind of outfit normally.... well, people who know me know that it's rare. But I actually really liked the outfits for this shoot and chances are that i will wear it again. Normally. In my daily life.

that's a breakthrough. and departure from the all attitude-y feel i usually go for. Not that I'm not doing it this time, notice all the accessories i have on...

I also decided that I need to invest in some headphones.

But anyway, all in all, it was a new thing, shooting in public. We only used to shoot in our living room and backyard for the past 2 years, so we were alright with completely being all pose-y and everything.

Except this time in Regent's park we were met by a lot of grinning and strange looks, and even other photographers taking photos of us. Looking at this positively, I didn't know we were that good that other photographers want to photograph us. Hahahaha

Either way, it was a really fun and relaxing shoot, and it was great catching up with my friends and to just really unwind from all the stress from work. And of course, to do something that I really love doing!

Will be attempting self-portraits, but need a whole lot practice in doing so! So if anyone has any pointers, please let me know because man, I really do need them.

Hope you'll enjoy this set :)

Till next time, lovelies!

P.S. Also, I just realised how much I like my puma shoes in the shoot! hahaha

Almost Alice

2 min read
Being out of uni means that I'm separated from the rest of the people I usually shoot with. Hence a lot less submissions now!

That and I physically do not have time to do everything. And when I do, I leave my brain to unwind by rotting in front of the computer screen. And right now, actually, I should be studying. Clearly I'm procrastinating, but hey, at least I have this account updated.

So anyway, this "new" shoot.... we were originally going to go with an Alice in Wonderland atmosphere. Used a backyard for Alice, and bit more city background for the Caterpillar. I have mentioned in my first picture in the set that it is a bit of a fail with regards to how well the photos have adhered to the theme, so I guess changing it to "Almost Alice" would suit the pictures more. Perhaps you don't even think it's even "almost". Maybe "trying to be alice but not quite there yet". But that's too long.

I must say this was a bit of a challenging shoot purely because we haven't shot for so long that our, well mine anyway, skills are getting rusty. Would also say the improvement is using a different set.

Purely because we don't live in Coventry now.... But that IS an improvement. No?

There aren't many pictures in this set as the other sets because of time restrictions. And daylight restrictions. You can see that when we got to the caterpillar the sun was setting. We actually shot in the golden hour though. This time being sunset rather than sunrise (refer to the Love in Oxford photoshoot).

So! I hope you guys have enjoyed it and for those who haven't seen it yet, you can find the set here:

Ta-ta for now!

Let me know what you want to see and we'll try our best to shoot them! And it'd be a good inspiration. Because with all the crap we're all doing, we're running out of them. I don't know about the others, but i am....

Coming up, I'm hoping to do a spring shoot -- any ideas in relation to this season? it's a beautiful season!

Till next time!

I just looked at my last entry -- NOVEMBER.

Just how much have I neglected this artistic side of my life?? or Wannabe artistic anyway.

I guess that just shows how much this whole move and work and everything sucks the life out of me.

But i will be picking it back up again. I'm sorry I've neglected you, life, I will start living...

First shoot of the year coming up! :)

Love at Oxford

3 min read
Woo! Finally went to Oxford to visit :icono-w-l:! had a wonderful time!! Doing everything that we used to do and love to do -- food, photography, bit of philosophy? hahaha it's a phood weekend!

Just in case anyone's wondering, the title for this series can be interpreted in many ways. originally it was 'cause i did everything I love, hence "love" at oxford. But some of the shots turned out to be romantic in a sense, so a different kind of "love" (especially some of the ones that :icono-w-l: took of me at a corner -- corner with love! reference to a taiwanese drama a few years ago, and the song). and the setting itself, the city -- it's yet another kind of "love".

So I guess "Love at Oxford" is a pretty apt title for this batch of photos. Sorry for bombarding my watchers! And thank you for watching me : ))) I hope you'll like the photos!

On life -- working at a coffee shop is SO TIRING. i come back home and i'm exhausted! mentally and physically. We're talking about at least 5 hours of standing and shuffling around and serving customers. Today I just felt like I was evapourating since I was constantly dehydrated.

But it makes me feel good. I must be some kind of workaholic!

This weekend is going to be SO busy with all the stuff happening in town. Which is good! I just hope that our customers would love our coffee enough to come back again!

Screwed up the coffee making a bit today, totally not myself! I never really made a bad cup of coffee....although one time there was this skinny latte that was just AWFUL.......... ><" but I did get the orders all perfect today! So that was good. :D

Looking forward to the next day actually! My family friends seem to be very concerned about my working hours and stuff....maybe i should tell them that i actually like my job and don't mind working long hours or being kept busy and everything.

Till next time! Whenever that would be..... man I need new models within proximity!!

Coffee Love

I work part-time at a newly opened coffee shop now; it's unbelievable how fast paced it is -- in 1 week i've learnt SO MUCH. For example, just today, i've learnt how to do all the coffees that we serve: flavoured latte, latte, americano, flat white, cappucino, mocha, hot chocolate.

and apparently, i can make a perfect cup of flat white and pretty good lattes. and you can tell i'm really happy about it.

It's kinda amazing. And also how fast you really learn by practicing over and over again and having a great boss to guide you and to make you understand what went wrong rather than to scream at you for something. It's a really steep learning curve but on-the-job training really does get you on the feet to do things quicker than ever. I can't believe that I've only been working for a week and I can pretty much do all the hot drinks, get the orders, punch them in the till and finish up their orders. oh and frothing milk.

and overcome the awkwardness of randomly saying hi and good morning. basically, to relax and do my job. and i really enjoy it. i love my job. even if i have to walk in the rain and wind and cold, i walk in and smell fresh muffins and coffee beans, it's all worth it.

just to do a plug -- if you're in the UK (especially in the north) and want a good cup of coffee, we're called "love coffee" (it's a heart, and coffee, so <3 coffee).

nothing much on the art front currently and i'm raking up some inspirations for our phood blog (phoodphilosophy.wordpress.com). will be visiting :icono-w-l: next weekend and hopefully do some shoots that we can post up. you guys know how :icono-w-l: is a fab model : ))

there are some other shoots that i have yet to post up and will get around to them soon -- my hdd got replaced so i have to copy everything back on at some point *_* so bear with me! and till next time : )))
